Reduced Registration Grants for Recent Graduates
Benefits
Recipients can register for the SETAC Europe 33rd Annual Meeting with the reduced member registration fee instead of the regular fee.
Deadline
Applications must submit by Wednesday, 8 February 2023 17:00 IST (Irish Standard Time).
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be an active SETAC member with a recent graduate status. To check your membership status, please go to setac.org and login with your credentials. You can view your membership information under your profile.
- A guest or lapsed membership is not valid
- The membership must be at least active until the last day of the annual meeting
- Qualify as a recent graduate:
- members must have received the primary degree related to the Society’s ethos environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology
- graduation no longer than 3 years ago
- a copy of the degree must be provided
- It is not possible to register with the combi fees (membership plus registration), as applicants must have an active membership at the time of application.
- Candidate must be actively involved in the SETAC Europe meeting for example as session chair, presenter, scientific committee member, training course instructor.
Application information
Applicants must submit the following information no later than Wednesday, 8 February 2023 17:00 IST (Irish Standard Time).
- Filled out application form (via application portal).
- Personal statement outlining why the candidate requires the reduced fee, the motivation to participate at the annual meeting and how participating benefits their own research or career (e.g. research focus, network) (max 500 words).
- Statement about the active contribution to the meeting.
All applicants will be informed about the outcome by Wednesday, 22 February 2023.
Terms and Conditions
- SETAC Recent Graduate Members can only receive the reduced registration grant for maximum two annual meetings.
- Grants are personal and cannot be given to others.
- Grant recipients must register before the early bird registration deadline.
- Recipients are expected to adhere to the SETAC Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.

- A guest or lapsed membership is not valid
- The membership must be at least active until the last day of the annual meeting
- Qualify as a senior active member:
- be at least 62 years of age
- not be working full time
- It is not possible to register with the combi fees (membership plus registration), as applicants must have an active membership at the time of application.
- Candidate must be actively involved in the SETAC Europe meeting for example as session chair, presenter, scientific committee member, training course instructor.
Application information
Applicants must submit the following information no later than Wednesday, 8 February 2023.

- Statement about the active contribution to the meeting.

Student Grants for SETAC Europe members
SETAC Europe is offering grants to students from countries that are administered by SETAC Europe. View the list of eligible countries
Benefits
Recipients will get a free meeting registration for the SETAC Europe 33rd Annual Meeting.
Deadline
Student grant applications are no longer accepted. The deadline to apply for a student grant was 26 October.
Eligibility
Candidates must:
- Be an active SETAC Europe student member. To check your membership status, please go to setac.org and login with your credentials. You can view your membership information under your profile.
- A guest or lapsed membership is not valid
- The membership must be at least active until the last day of the annual meeting
- Be a student and provide a valid student proof.
- Have not received two or more SETAC Europe Annual Meeting student grants before.
Application Information
Applicants must submit the following information no later than Wednesday, 26 October 2022, 17:00 IST.
- Filled out application form (via application portal).
- Personal statement with clear explanation of why financial support is required and how attendance to the meeting fits with academic goals and career plans (max 500 words)
- A valid student proof (e.g. semester enrollment proof or statement of the supervisor. A date must be included)
- A supporting statement by the applicant’s research advisor (single page maximum). Please note that the applicant can choose to upload the supporting statement directly during the application process, or if the advisor should receive a separate email requesting to upload a supporting statement. If the advisor is requested to upload the letter of support, the submission deadline is three days after the grant application submission deadline.
All applicants will be informed about the outcome by Wednesday, 2 November 2022.

- Student members can only receive the grant for maximum two annual meetings, while being a student.

Student Grants for Non-European Countries
To support students from other geographic units (GUs) within SETAC we are offering 10 student grants per GU. The grants are open for countries categorised as low-income, lower middle income or upper middle income by the World Bank or with a Gross National Income (GNI) per capita in 2019, according to the Atlas method below 30 000 US$.
